# Deprecated Islands

> Storefront islands retained for legacy compatibility but not for new pages

These islands remain available so existing pages can render while they are
migrated. Do not select them for new storefront pages. Prefer static HTML,
CSS, `data-behavior` primitives, or the replacement island shown below.

The generated schema catalog marks these islands with `deprecated: true`, and
the MCP discovery catalog excludes them from active recommendations.

## Migration rules

- Do not add these islands to new pages.
- Existing pages may keep them until migrated.
- Cart V2 is enabled by default. Do not author `CartDrawer`, an inline cart
  profile section, or a Cart V2 flag in new page source.
- Keep a deprecated island only when editing a legacy page that already uses
  it and migration would be a separate change.

implementations for new pages.
